SheetEasy privacy policy
Summary
SheetEasy opens and edits Excel (.xlsx) files on your phone. Your files stay on your phone. The app has no account, no sign-in and no server of ours. It is free and shows ads from Google AdMob, which is the only thing that sends data off your phone.
Your files
The files you open, edit, save or share are processed on your device only. We never receive them. "Save a copy" writes a new file where you choose. "Share" gives a temporary copy to the app you pick.
What SheetEasy stores on your device
- A list of recently opened files (name and location).
- Private copies of recently opened files that came from other apps, so they can be reopened later.
- One temporary copy of a file while you share it, replaced the next time you share.
This stays on your phone. It is removed when you uninstall the app, and an item leaves the list when you tap "Remove" in Recent files.
Ads (Google AdMob)
To show and measure ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares with Google:
- your IP address (which gives an approximate location),
- your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers,
- information about how you interact with the app and its ads,
- diagnostic information such as app launch time and performance.
This data is sent encrypted (TLS). Ads are limited to a general-audience content rating. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or turn off personalised ads, in your Android settings and at adssettings.google.com. Google's own policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Consent
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, SheetEasy asks for your choice with Google's consent form before showing ads. You can change your choice later from "Privacy choices" on the Home screen.
Permissions
SheetEasy uses the internet and Google's advertising ID only for ads. It does not ask for access to your storage, camera, contacts, microphone or location. Files are opened through Android's file picker or from the app that sends them.
Children
SheetEasy is not directed at children under 13.
Sharing and selling
We do not sell your data. The only party that receives data from the app is Google, for the ads described above.
Your choices and deleting data
There is no account to delete. Uninstall the app to remove everything it stored on your phone. For ad data, use your Google ad settings linked above.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Questions: bbjnagoor@gmail.com.
